John Hoskison - Myra Baker

John Hoskison has been a professional golfer for over thirty years and is a Class ‘A’ member of the British PGA. He has been a member of the full European Tour and currently competes on the European Seniors Tour

John's interest in writing came to fruition In 1992 when Golf Monthly magazine invited John on to the teaching panel where he contributed instruction articles - this led to opportunities for writing about golf and sport in general.

  • Although John teaches and writes about golf, he also plays competitive golf for a living (see John's Swing)
  • He is also a regular contributor to the popular Golf Club Radio Show which covers all aspects of the game.
  • John is closely involved with the promotion of sport for young people and has spoken at over 200 schools delivering motivational talks about life and sport.
  • He also organises luxury PGA Tuition Trips to Spain and Portugal for personal golf tuition.

Travelling extensively throughout his career, John's last project abroad was helping to set up a teaching academy for junior golfers in China, where he lived for two years. During his career John twice represented Europe againt the USA in PGA Cup Matches and among many tournament victories, won the British National PGA Club Championships in 1992.

John currently lives in Newbury and is attached to the Newbury Golf Centre in the middle of the famous Newbury Racecourse.
